6 - National Climate March - Part of the Global Day of Climate Protest, the March will be crucial this year. Staged to happen halfway through the UN Climate Talks in Poznan it will be a really important chance to influence decision makers before the Copenhagen talks in 2009. Our long term aim is to build the demonstrations bigger, year on year, to reach a veritable tidal wave of global protest, pushing irresistibly for the effective and equitable all-inclusive emissions reductions treaty that the world so urgently needs.

6 - Climate protest bike ride - Mass bike ride around Central London joining up with the National Climate March at Grosvenor Square. There will be three stops on the route: • Outside Greenergy, 198 High Holborn – for an agrofuels protest organised by Biofuelswatch

6 - Public meeting for Mumia Abu-Jamal - Mumia has been imprisoned on death row for a quarter of a century, convicted of a crime he did not commit. He was framed for the murder of a Philadelphia police officer because of his history of political activism and his record as a journalist who was not afraid to speak out for the oppressed. This case raises issues such as the death penalty, prisoners' rights, racism in the US, the role of the police, and many others. We hope for a lively and broad discussion.

9 - In Prison My Whole Life - film - About Mumia Abu-Jamal and racist American justice by Marc Evans, followed by Q&A with narrator William Francome & co-creator Katie Green. Francome was born the day that death row journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal was arrested for the murder of a Philadelphia police officer in 1981. The film follows Francome as he explores the case, and asks writers, musicians, academics, including Alice Walker, Noam Chomsky, Mos Def, Snoop Dogg and Steve Earle, about Mumia.

10 - On International Human Rights Day 2008, After 60 Years.. Why Human Rights? Public Meeting - On the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) creating a global framework for the protection of the rights of everyone, and in this climate of multiple crises, we invite you to consider: do we really have human rights? What\'s right and wrong with them? Can \'rights\' help us respond to the challenge of reconstructing society; so that justice, mutual respect and equality prevail? And if so, what concrete actions must we now take? Speakers include Professor AC Grayling (on Surveillance), Andy Worthington (author of the Guantanamo Files), Vivienne Westwood and others. Q&A with panelists, followed by discussion.
