MAL MAISON
A group calling itself “Justice Not Crisis” (JNC) have occupied the disused Beechcourt Hotel in Bristol Road, Birmingham. JNC plan to clear up the abandoned hotel, closed after the Council shut it due to complaints of noise, burning tyres and its alleged use for “immoral purposes”. They hope to make it a useful community resource and clean up the gardens which are an eyesore to local residents.

Justice not Crisis are hierarchically run and are directly linked to Optima, a housing association who made lots of people homeless when they 're-developed' a working class estate near the city centre. Members of Optima's board (who lead JNC) voted for the stock transfer of council housing. They also have a supermarket development in the pipeline and another development that will only see 13% of the housing being built for social rent. They bulldozed the estates shops, mature parkland, and setup CCTV everywhere.
