Heckler at the Back
Protesters have targeted the Nottingham premises of Heckler & Koch – a manufacturer of fire arms used all over the world by militias and armies on all sides. H&K and the Notts police didn't want the protesters or a local radio station covering the protest to advertise the fact that H&K have a warehouse full of guns in Nottingham – but the protesters think the opposite...
Crap Arrest of the Week
During the local elections last week, in Worthing a candidate was violently arrested by police after complaints that her supporters were being mistreated. The candidate was running on the 'Save Titnore's Trees' platform – part of the protests to protect some woodland near Worthing being trashed to build a Tesco supermarket.

Activists who were arrested last year after doing banner drops in a protest against the widening of the M1 motorway have had their charges dropped.
Bomb the BASF
BASF are trying to do another crop trial of a genetically modified potato. This Tuesday their offices in Manchester were blockaded by protesters, and there will be another action in June at the site of the BASF crop trial in Cambridgeshire.

Oil be There
Northern Petroleum claim there is oil in an area of outstanding natural beauty in West Sussex, and are applying for permission to drill. As oil gets more scarce, oil companies will look in more and more unusual places to dig it up.

Fire and Limestone
The vigil camp at the Hill Of Tara, Ireland, was trashed on Wednesday in an attempted eviction by a team of security working for the Office Of Public Works. Most of the camp was evicted, except the sacred fire, which had to be left, as the protesters have successfully claimed that the fire has religious meaning to them. Meanwhile road works continue apace, despite the fact that many of the construction contractors and other firms involved haven't yet been paid by the Spanish company leading the project, Ferrovial.
Ground to a Halt
A campaign called 'Leave It In The Ground' is forming to stop a coal quarry being dug up in Derbyshire. It's not just the destruction of the land, it's also about the carbon emissions caused by coal-fired power stations, which are high emitters of carbon.

Police in Norfolk are using more and more hi-tech resources to crack down on free parties and raves in the county.

A strange tale about a pair of teenage girls in Scotland who were allowed to hold high powered automatic weapons as part of a day out at a firearms unit. This excursion was a 'treat' for the girls after their father – a policeman – died.

No Borders actions around the country target Borders and Immigration Agency snatch squads used in early morning raids to forcibly arrest and detain 'failed' asylum seekers for deportation.
Court Out Playing Square
The SOCPA laws which made protests near the Houses of Parliament much more difficult are being repealed – but it is to be replaced with a new armoury of anti-protest legislation. Also a demo against the Counter Terrorism Bill.
