THE BIG COVER UP

'World Naked Bike Rides' took place in cities everywhere on June 10th 2006.

The Bike ride is a “carnival on wheels” protesting against the perils of car culture and oil dependency as well as highlighting the right to be naked. This film covers the World Naked Bike Ride in Brighton, which ran into problems when Chief Superintendent Jeremy Paine of Sussex Police deemed it fit to restrict riders from being fully naked, telling them to cover up their “rude bits”. The ride went ahead regardless and SchMOVIES catches up with several riders to see what they thought up about this great cover up.

Whilst we were in Manchester we were given this footage of French National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen's visit to Britain. The BNP had invited him over for St Georges day for a spot of dinner. Fearing for his safety they had arranged to meet the press in the car park of Office World, Stockport. Unfortunatley for them they accidently handed out the location on a flyer to an anti-fascist. Chalk This Up
Shot on Mayday 2004, the last date of the SchNEWS at Ten tour was in Ipswich. The young collective who put us up were running a Food not Bombs stall, handing out free food and free information to the public, slap bang in the middle of a open market. As a bit of fun they encouraged kids to chalk graffiti on the floor.....which prompted the arrival of an unwelcome but ultimately laughable "authority" figure. (4mins, May 2004) (24MB - mpeg)
