"The message to residents is to check your insurance cover" - Peter Everett, Auchtararder's Community Council Chairman.

A couple of miles down the road from the Gleneagles Hotel, where the G8 summit is being held this year - is the village of Auchterarder. (pronounced: Och-ter-rar-der for all you incomers!)
Considering this is the closest village to the summit and is expecting a huge demonstration through it's mile and half high street, not much has been reported in the mainstream media (or by us).

SchNEWS recently took a trip to Auchterarder one afternoon to ask the locals what it was like having the 'Glastonbury' of global corporate capitalism camp up next to them.
